A touching story written by the hands of a child...

Don't Smoke By: John Tupponce II

When ever I look at my aunt I remember not to smoke. I think it makes you smell funny from all smoke and its icky and smells bad. even though I never tried it I think it looks nasty and strong. It makes you look nasty too. It makes you real wrinkly. It turns your finger nails yellow. Its bad for you. Because it kills lots of people. Sometimes I wish it was elegale. It kills your lungs. And wants you start you cant stop. And it also turns your lungs black. The reason I am talking about lungs so much is because you need your lungs. It takes away seven minits of your life. These are my reasons why I think you should not smoke.

My favorite children's literature book is...

* "Goldilocks and the Three Bears"
I have chosen this book for two reasons. The first reason is due to the success I experienced while teaching "Reader's Workshop" to my 1st and 2nd grade students! "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" was the perfect book to use when teaching the concept of this reading approach, whereas the children recognized that just as the bed had to be just right ...the porridge had to be just right ... so did the book they were shopping for. This was a great teaching tool and resulted in students  reading independently, with great comprehension, fluency and confidence. The second reason I have chosen this book is because my children enjoyed acting out the book and putting on a play for mommy...

A picture for my Mommy! My Alexis knows that my favorite flower is a sunflower...several years ago...she drew this beautiful picture for me. I was so touched that I framed it and it remains a part of my kitchen decor...as this illustration I absolutely adore...
